Call for Participation: Shape the Future of Plant Phenomics – Join the Early Career Professionals Network's Forum!
The EPPS Organizing Committee & IPPN are excited to announce the launch of a dedicated Early Career Professionals Network (ECPN) at the EPPS this year in Bonn. We are seeking passionate & driven Early Career researchers & industry Professionals (ECPs) to form an inaugural ECPN Forum. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a vibrant, global community dedicated to supporting upcoming plant phenotyping professionals. The ECPN aims to establish a sustainable platform for collaboration, advocacy, knowledge exchange, & professional development, extending beyond the EPPS symposium to encompass an international network that operates on an ongoing basis.

Vision
Our vision is to use the ECPN to empower ECPs in plant phenomics around the world through:
- Continuity beyond EPPS: ECPN is supposed to continue its operations beyond a single event & is planned to consistently provide value to a global audience of early career professionals.
- Regular Engagement: Consistent virtual &/or in-person meetings at least once a year, addressing early career professionals to foster dialogue, exchange valuable resources, network & collaborate.
- Strategic Communication: Open communication with recognized stakeholders like IPPN, EMPHASIS, the Global Wheat Datasets, EPPS, PHENET & all committed national infrastructures (e.g. NPEC, PHENOME-EMPHASIS, DPPN, PhenItaly & others).
- Advocacy & Feedback: Providing a platform to voice ECP needs towards employers, funders, senior colleagues/ mentors, trainers & other relevant audiences.
Opportunity
We are seeking motivated individuals to serve on the inaugural Forum, laying the foundation for this vital network. This Forum will be instrumental in shaping the ECPN’s structure, activities & long-term impact.
Who Should Apply?
- Early career researchers (PhD students, postdocs (<2 yrs.), research associates)
- Industry professionals in plant phenomics (<2 yrs.)
- Individuals working in technician roles within research organisations
- Individuals with a passion for networking & community building

Your participation will be crucial in establishing a dynamic & impactful network for early career professionals in our field. Candidates who answer to this call will be invited to join the preparation & planning of the ECPN launch event, during EPPS.
